If you’ve owned a steel-frame dining set before, you’ll know what happens after a couple of wet winters. This one uses an aluminium frame, which cannot rust, so you can leave it outside all year round with no cover needed. That’s exactly why we stock sets like this — too many people have already wasted money replacing rusty garden furniture after two or three seasons.

The frame is wrapped in UV-stabilised HDPE rattan (not PVC rattan). PVC rattan cracks, fades and turns brittle after a couple of summers in UV. And with aluminium, moisture can’t quietly start corrosion from the inside of joints and bolt holes like it can with steel sets, because the main frame material cannot rust. The table is topped with 5mm clear tempered glass too, which handles British temperature swings far better than standard glass.

You get a 160 x 90cm rectangular dining table, 6 armchairs and 6 charcoal seat cushions in the box. It’s a proper dining-height set at 75cm high, so you can sit down and eat outside without balancing plates on a low table. All you need to do is store the cushions away when you’re not using them, as they’re not waterproof by design — that’s deliberate, because waterproof coatings feel clammy and can crack in UV.
