Natural Aluminium Rattan Corner Dining Set 245cm

If you’ve owned a steel-frame set before, you’ll know what happens after a couple of wet winters. This corner sofa dining set is built to avoid that problem properly. The aluminium frame cannot rust, meaning you can leave it outside all year round with no cover needed for the frame or rattan.

That’s the big difference here. Steel corrodes from the inside out, usually through joints and bolt holes where moisture gets in first. By the time you see rust outside, the frame’s already on the way out. Aluminium doesn’t have that issue, and with UV-stabilised HDPE rattan wrapped around it, this is the sort of set that keeps going well past the 2-3 season cycle that catches out a lot of cheaper garden furniture. We only stock what we’d put in our own garden, which is why we stick to aluminium and HDPE rattan rather than PVC rattan that can become brittle after a couple of summers in UV.

You get a 245cm x 245cm corner layout made up of a 3 seater 2 arm sofa, a 2 seater 1 arm sofa, 2 ottomans and a dining-height table. A 70cm table height matters more than people think. It’s the difference between balancing a plate on your knees and actually eating outside properly. The seat and back cushions are 10cm thick too, so they don’t flatten in the first half hour like the 6-8cm pads you get on many entry-level sets.

The set comes with beige seat and back cushions, plus a 5mm clear tempered glass tabletop that handles British temperature swings better than standard glass. Cushions aren’t waterproof by design, and that’s a good thing. Waterproof coatings feel clammy and tend to crack in UV. All you need to do is store the cushions away when you’re not using them, or indoors over winter, and the rest just wipes clean with a damp cloth or a quick rinse from the hose.
