The frame is aluminium and the weave is UV-stabilised HDPE rattan in dark grey. That matters more than most people realise. Steel frames corrode from the inside out through joints and bolt holes, so by the time you see rust outside, the structure’s already on the way out. Aluminium doesn’t have that problem, and HDPE rattan holds up far better than PVC rattan types that crack and fade after a couple of summers in UV exposure. HDPE is non-toxic and recyclable, while PVC rattan isn’t.

You get 2 reclining chairs with side handles, 2 footstools, 1 coffee table and charcoal seat and back cushions included. The back cushions are 10cm thick, which helps with comfort after 30 or 40 minutes compared with the 6-8cm cushions you often see on budget sets. Size-wise, each chair measures 69 x 74.5 x 89cm, the footstools are 62 x 62 x 40cm, and the coffee table is 50 x 50 x 45cm with a 5mm clear tempered safety glass top that handles British temperature swings without cracking.

Care is straightforward. All you need to do is wipe the frame and rattan with a damp cloth, or rinse it with the hose if it needs it. The cushions aren’t waterproof by design because waterproof coatings feel clammy and tend to crack in UV, so just store them away when not in use or indoors over winter. Covers come off and can be machine washed at 30°C.
