6 Seat Aluminium Rattan Reclining Round Dining Set

If you’ve owned a steel-frame dining set before, you’ll know how this usually goes. It looks fine at first, then a couple of wet winters later the frame starts giving up. This 6 seat dining set is built around a strong aluminium frame that cannot rust, so you can leave it outside all year round with no cover needed. That’s the whole point of it really — proper garden furniture for British weather, not something that needs replacing after two or three seasons.

The frame is aluminium and the rattan is UV stabilised hand woven HDPE, which matters more than most people realise. Steel corrodes from the inside out, usually through joints and bolt holes where moisture gets in and coatings can’t fully protect it. Aluminium cannot rust, meaning the structure stays sound for the long haul. The rattan is the same story — unlike PVC that goes brittle and fades after a couple of summers in UV, HDPE keeps its colour and flexibility far better.

The table stands at 74cm high, which is proper dining height, so this is a set for eating outside rather than balancing a plate on a low table and hoping for the best. The footprint is around 290cm x 290cm, so it’s a good fit if you want a full 6-seat layout with enough room to move around it. The glass top is tempered safety glass, which handles British temperature swings better than standard glass.

The cushions are in cappuccino and, like all sensible outdoor cushions, they’re not waterproof by design. Waterproof cushions feel clammy, trap heat, and the coating tends to crack after a couple of summers in UV. All you need to do is store them indoors when you’re not using them. The covers come off for a 30°C machine wash, and the frame and rattan clean up with a damp cloth or a quick rinse from the hose.
