The frame is aluminium, which means it cannot rust. If you’ve owned a steel-frame set before, you’ll know why that matters. Steel starts corroding from the inside at joints and bolt holes, then a couple of wet winters later the damage shows up outside. Aluminium frames are built to last well over 10 years with proper cushion care, while steel-frame sets are typically replaced after 2-3 seasons.

The aluminium frame cannot rust, meaning you can keep the table and chairs outdoors all year round without a cover for the frame. The rattan is UV-stabilised HDPE (high-density polyethylene), not PVC. PVC rattan cracks, fades and becomes brittle after a couple of summers in UV exposure. We only stock sets we’d put in our own garden, so we focus on materials that deal with British weather properly rather than just looking alright in the box.

You get 1 x 140cm round dining table, 6 x armchairs and 6 x seat cushions in grey and charcoal. The table stands at 75cm high, so it’s dining-height for meals, not somewhere to rest a mug. Each chair measures W57 x D60 x H90cm. The tabletop is 5mm clear tempered safety glass, which handles British temperature swings better than standard glass. All you need to do is store the cushions when you’re not using them and give the frame or rattan a quick wipe down now and then.
